Federal claim dismissed in Duval jail rape; case returned to state court
A judge dismissed a federal claim by a former Duval County jail worker who was raped while on duty in the jail library but not her state negligence claims against the Sheriff's Office. Instead, U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard ordered the 2009 lawsuit returned to state court.
