I recently discovered that there is a lawsuit against a drug company manufacturing the drug Accutane, which has been linked with Crohn's disease.
Here's the thing. I'm 28 years old, and I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when I was 21, while still under a family-based insurance plan. Shortly before I developed Crohn's disease, I was prescribed a medication for severe and painful pimples.
The problem is that I have switched doctors, health plans. etc. and cannot remeber the medication I was given, although I have a strong feeling it was Accutane in pill form.
WHAT THE F*CK SHOULD I DO? I'm freaking out, because my Crohn's disease came out of the blue and severely damaged my quality of life. If I find out that this drug comapany is responsible, then I defrinitely want to sue the bastards.
Will my current doctor have the information of my past prescriptions and medical history?

Your old doctor should have records of what he prescribed.
Of course, in some states he only has to keep them for 5 or 7 years, so this may not be helpful.

the only thing you can do is call around, call your previous insurance company, your previous doctor, and your new doctor. SOMEONE of these three has to have the answer if it is any form of accutane it CAN come in a pill form and the generic brand is called isotretinoin so if they tell you either of these names you know what you have taken. also, you should know that accutane causes crohns disease in a SMALL % of people.....meaning its rare for you to get... so i hope everything is alright but i also doubt that if you got the disease its not from these pills... you would have remembered what medication you have used.. i take MANY medication throughout my life and have never forgotten one medication...

Either call the old insurance company or your former doctor and ask what the drug was called.
