Why do democrats give misleading statistics on the cost of health care? I keep hearing democrats give us this "FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" that the United States spends more per person on Health care then any other nation in the entire world.
But what they never tell us is WHY the costs are so high. They give these statistics that are meant to tug at your heart strings and elicit a knee jerk reaction. The democrats hatred of the wealthy is really apparent here, they give these statistics to get the "little guy" upset and convince him he is entitled to some of that money just because he is poor and for no other reason.
But let's examine why the cost of health care is so much higher in the United States, instead of throwing out bleeding heart statistics.
For one thing, the cost of malpractice insurance in through the roof. My father is a physician and when rates go up for his insurance he has to charge more for office visits. Doctors in this country are so afraid of being sued that they cover all of their bases, by doing medical procedures that may be unnecessary. They do this in order to cover their backs in order to not get sued. But the democrats are fiercely opposed to limiting junk lawsuits.
My grandmother was having kidney problems 2 years ago, which turned out to be nothing in the end. But the doctor kept running all of these tests that were very expensive to cover his back in the event something bad happened to my grandmother.
So what other reasons are health care costs so expensive? Reasons that the democrats don't tell you.

Absolutely correct. Trial lawyers are a huge problem in the health care system, but they donate millions to the Democrats thus tort reform is never going to be allowed with the current Congress.
