I went to a fast food chain today. When I got home, the bun was moldy. Unfortunately I did not notice the mold until after eating 2/3 of sandwich. Is it a winnable case to sue for negligence, since they do make and wrap the sandwich there, and since I am slightly allergic to mold/penicillin. I tried to take the sandwich back to get a refund and maybe an extra coupon or something but they confiscated my sandwich and said they would do a clinical study on it.

What are your damages? You can sue, but unless you get sick, there are no damages, nothing to sue for. You gave them the evidence, so it would be hard to prove the case. Did they take a report, write down your name and address? If not, you are screwed. It's highly unlikely that it was penicillin.
You should write to the corporate office of the company and tell them what happened.
If they sold you bad food, why do you want a coupon? So you can buy more bad food?
