If a minor is involved with a gun accident inside their home - will the parent be charged with negligence or endangerment for the gun not being locked up?
An old friend of mine lost her teen son this weekend - several guns in house, none locked up.

Looking at Utah codes, cannot find anything but i am sure a charge will be filed for negligence to secure a weapon or child endangerment. The courts will dismiss the charges as the weapon is secured or has a lock on it.

Probably not. At some point, a person becomes old enough to know better. I would think leaving guns around a 13 year old (or older) is not negligent, as a 13 year old is old enough to know the dangers.
It's like having a swimming pool. It may be negligent to let a toddler near a pool unsupervised, but you would think someone in their teens is old enough to be near a pool alone without drowning.
