In one of my classes we are studying medical malpractice and this story was brought to my attention and it is heart breaking. Military is not allowed to sue the government for medical malpractice. How do yall feel about this?

If the VA hospitals we have experienced are any indication, the government would be bankrupt if people could sue. I don't think any business, government or other entity should be exempt from law suits, if warranted.

I think this is horrible and a disgrace!
Its actually sad when someone signs up for the military they loose their rights as a citizen to sue if there is a malpractice while serving. so basically the medics can be uneducated and misdiagnose and there will be no repercussions.
THESE PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO DIE FOR US AND THIS IS WHAT REWARDS THEY HAVE
If anything, they should be treated better than regular Americans who could really get a fu*k less about who is dying/ being affected by the war.

I think it's silly. The key term is "incidental to their service." They can't sue for something related to their service in the Armed Forces. It's unfortunate that they consider having medical treatment (by an Armed Forces physician as required) as incidental to their service. I hope the law is changed to exclude medical malpractice issues.

And some folks in this country want to go to Universal Healthcare??? This is what they'd be getting: bad care and no recourse.
