My mother passed away from Gallbladder and Liver Cancer last month.- The hospital that treated her twice did not catch the cancer. She was in the hospital in March complaining of abdominal pain. Had blood tests done in May with her primary care physician and then she was hospitalized in early October. Both Hospitalizations were from an urinary tract infection. They ran all sorts of tests including blood work. I am in process of ordering all of her medical records. Do I have some kind of case against the hospital or her Primary Care Physician?
Although this had nothing to do with the cancer itself, the hospital ran an EKG on her. We waited for the results.. One doctor said that her EKG had changed. Then 20 minutes later another doctor said that her EKG was read wrong. The 2nd doctor explained that either they read someone elses EKG or they had a machine malfunction. That being said, I have to question the integrity of this hospital. So that is why I am asking this question. Thanks for the sympathies!

you can sue anyone if you have a case.
you have to have proof and a good point.

Perhaps. You should take all of your documentation and your story to a medical malpractice attorney that can analyze the case and make a recommendation.

Yes, you can sue. On the other hand, do you have a case? I don't know. Only an attorney would be able to review and evaluate your data to determine if the hospital was really negligent.
With your additional details, it definitely sounds like something "hinky" was going on at the hospital from a malpractice perspective. I would definitely connect with a malpractice attorney once you have all your data together.
?
Anyone can sue anyone. The question is, do you have a legitimate case. In this case, probably not. Even though they call it medical "science," there are too many variables involved with some cancers to make it a cut and dry case.
?
only if you can prove negligence by the doctor or the hospital. those types of cancer are very hard to catch. in any case i would speak to a lawyer about all this.

You should probably contact a medical malpractice attorney. You could have a case but it would be difficult for us to actually tell you how much of a case you may have here on Y!A.

You would have to be able to prove neglect, indifference or something along those lines. Sorry for the loss of your mom.

I'm not a lawyer, but that does seem pretty odd. You never know though, some types of cancer move quickly and catch people by surprise.

You can sue both the physician and the hospital and the manufacturer of any equipment used in the procedure. That doesn't mean you will win, because you have to prove negligence to collect.
