I went to the ER for what I thought was a kidney infection, something that is not unusual for me, I was hospitalized in the past for this. When I got there, it was the worst experience of my life. I had to pass urine to be tested, she took it from me about 2:00 pm, (it looked like rusted water), but she insisted it looked fine. She left it sitting on my table until after 6pm and then she decided to send it for test. Secondly, I told her that my kidney on the left side and the right side of my abdomin was hurting. She insisted that I had an STD, I insisted I didn't, but she assured me she was the Doctor, and she knew what she was talking about, against my better judgement I agreed.
She told me she wouldn't have my test results back for days and she wanted to treat me. She gave me 15 pills to swallow, 3000mg of two different anti-biotics. 2000mg of Zitromax and 1000mg of something else and I'm only 5'1 and 108lbs.
To make a long story short, I didn't have an STD or nothing else. I had low blood sugar and potassium. I have now had the worst side effects in history, which includes blurred vision, calcium developed in my kidneys, fatigue, the list goes on for days.
I went to my regular physican that insisted, I should be praying to be alive. He was in disbelief until he obtained the records himself!
I have to pay a $ 100 co-pay for this quack doctor. I am angry!!!!
Is this medical malpractice?? If not, what should I do? I should not have to be responsible for a bill, and I wasn't even treated for my condition.

yes yes it is
no doctor should give you that many pills unless they have done multiple different tests to cross-confirm results
talk to a doctor you trust about malpractice suits and good luck
keep track of all your symptoms in detail and what times they occur

time to take responsibility for your own health -with a history of kidney problems, the first thing you should have done was to have called your nephrologist and/or urologist. the ER is for emergencies. get a copy of your medical records, never take a med unless you fully understand the reason why, side effects, etc. follow up with your specialist and consult an attorney.

You need to call an attorney who specializes in medical malpractice, there are dozens in every locality, look in your phonebook. Explain your experience to them and they should be able to tell you if they think you have something worth looking into. Call a few.
Bottom line is that it is expensive and time consuming to litigate a case, unless you have proven loss beyond simple discomfort; a loss that can be calculated into money damages, you really don't have a case. If you lost time at work, now have permanent impairment or had temporary impairment so severe that you were caused other great losses, then the time and money to litigate may not be all that enticing for some attorneys.
That's why I say call a few. Some smaller attorneys might pick up the case if they think they can get compensation for you in the way of settlement prior to going to trial.

Although medical malpratice is very common problem these days, you have to have proof that you were hurt in any kind of way. I would say definitely you do have a case.
