I've heard that limiting legal fees and malpractice awards in medical awards cases is a large part of the high cost of medical coverage. Just how much money (percentage wise) does this represent? No one seems to know. Doesn't it make sense to have the government reduce or limit malpractice fees and awards to reduce everyones health care costs? Couldn't we all write to our elected representatives in Washington and request this? Maybe we could start a national petition. Thanks for your answer.

I don't know. I myself wonder how many lives would be saved if there was no malpractice by these highly intelligent doctors who have had many years of training in medical school.
