Lawsuit awards vs. insurance markups?

Would you support legislation that tied attorney compensation in a medical malpractice lawsuit award to be equal to the percentage an insurance company is allowed to charge above their costs for health insurance?

For instance, if an insurance company is only allowed 20% of the income to be allotted to their overhead and profit, would it be fair to limit attorneys fees to 20%?

If the insurance industry can live on 20% margin, why can't the legal profession do the same?
gws, no need to track it. It could be like the labor board. If you feel an attorney overcharged you, you report them. A simple investigation would decide. Attorneys either pay up or get their license revoked.

It would be a heck of a lot easier than policing the insurance companies, which the government has already approved.

Yeah right. More government bureaucracy to track that.
The answer is for the insurance companies to fight the suits if not legit, not just settle.

Might be a good place to start tort reform.
