I wish to know as my Trust has removed mine, they found out I am suing them for clinical negligence that I previously suffered from a former doctor that they employed. The trust denies this is reason, but their timing sure is convenient! Two of my GP's wanted to call the trust to get me another one, as I had to call them out and have an emergency appointment with them in just eight or nine days of having mine removed because I was so depressed/suicidal. I said they would say no, or it would be admitting I needed one and they removed him, now I think I should have. I live alone and have no familly and no one to keep an eye on me and my moods are prone to rapid, and I mean rapid, change. I am in a vunerable possition as I will become depressed/ suicidal probably this week or next and I barely survived last time. I doubt the next episode will be much better!
Also, I need one that is not from my Trust for obvious reasons, can this be arranged or not? Thanks
LissaIcares, no! My solicitor has emailed them to ask where it is. She said she suspects it will say that contact with the CPN is unhelpull and that calling the GP is more appropriate, which is ridiculous!
Also, my GP is the employed by the Trust that has removed the CPN, so normally the mental health care would be provided by them, but these are the ones that have removed mine, so I am in a difficult possision! I need one from a different area.
No! Not the GP any way and I like mine. The GP did say last time I was there that she wanted to get me independent help. I think she recognised that I will not get unbiased help from the trust that wants to protect a colleuge! She noted I could not go on like this and that I needed help to get better, as she put it. I presumed she meant a psychiatrist that is from a differnet Trust. The problem will then be that CPN's ect will be linked to that doctor' team and not from my area. It's going to be very problematic I think. I made decission today though, that I am going to get every bit of help I should have to keep safe, dispite what my trust does if I have to chain myself the trust railings. They have done this to me before - removed my support- because I complained about the first psychiatrist wrongly diagnosing me and refusing me a second opinion etc. I think they think that this is not obvious to every one that they have done this on purpose!

I think that you should still pursue the line you are doing in the long term. Have you got the number of your local crisis team in the event you become suicidal?

As far as I can remember and this is a few years back your mental health goes off where your GP based and not where you live. Like I live in one area very close to the local authorities boarder and my GP is based on the other side of the boarder so I see my doctors on his side not mine. Hope that makes sense. You have a right to get the right care that is needed and if they are not willing to give it then once again this is neglect and they can get into trouble with it. take care good luck.
Edit: was you given a care plan?
Edit: Is there anyway you can move to a doctor just out of that trusts area?
Orignal From: What, if any, is the legal requirement to warrant the allocation of a CPN and or social worker(UK)?
