Everytime anybody mentions that 45 million American's can't afford health care, or the fact that health costs in America rise about 15-20% every year for the last couple of decades, the right wingers always try to change the subject and start talking about "frivolous lawsuits".
Where are these frivilous lawsuits? Where are the people who file these "frivolous lawsuits"?
Can anybody give me ANY examples?
I can cite 45 million examples of people who can't afford health care in our terrible system. Can you cite ONE example of a frivolous medical malpractice lawsuit?
What is the matter with you retardicans? I ask for examples of "frivolous lawsuits" related to medical care and not one of you gave an example.
One cited the McDonalds "hot coffee" case. That's a product liability case not a medical malpractice case. Do some reading please. Another talks about "ambulance chasers" and "slip and fall" lawyers. Apparently he doesn't understand that the negligence in those cases happened before the patient ever even got to the hospital, therefore those cases have nothing to do with medical malpractice either.

I advocate a prohibition on non-economic damages, and a strict cap on lawyers fees in all suits.

When you have no answers then resort to change.Funny they dont like change.

This is just another case of blaming victims.

Can't afford Ins to bad no one said life was easy or fair.No reason I should pay for anyone else..

Just because they don't get the same media coverage as other suits, does not mean they are not there. Juries like to stick it to the big companies, even if it isn't the companies fault. Same as the famous McDonalds hot coffee suit.
WHITE HOUSE WATCHING
Having been a Registered Nurse for 32 years. I can tell you that this and the term defensive medicine is one of the major reasons that healthcare is so expensive.
Example.
A physician knowing that a headache is a headache but is the first time he sees a patient, has no neurological changes but due to litigants waiting to pounce with a less than ethical attorney does the million dollar workup(MRI maybe a neurological Physician consult). Thankfully the work up is negative but the cost still goes to the government, in the form of billing to Medicare or Medicare or to the private sector in the form of Insurance companies.
The left is being disingenuous when they only blame insurance companies. The government sets the standards of care and always have, Insurance companies follow these standards of care set forth by the standards set by the Secretary of Health and Human Serves. LOOK IT UP.

This question would be just okay, IF there were not some 9 MILLION links providing the cases for EVERY State that have been processed.
instead of posting a "slap" at righties, why don't you provide an answer to ONE question that Liberal limpwrists, can NOT answer.
WHERE is the Trillion dollars coming from to PAY for this nightmare ? NOT Obama or the Democrats have provided anything more than "speculations", like were supposed to trust them after all the deception and bribery for the VOTES ?

You seem to forget most righties are the ones being sued for medical malpractice.I once asked here if anyone had stats about what % of the American Medical Association(AMA) was republican.I ended up deleting the question because I never got an answer.
If the AMA is so secretive about those numbers it makes me wonder how good they are about policing themselves!

I did a Google search for "medical malpractice lawsuit examples" and got 369,000 responses. You were saying????
Zebcat
Are you kidding? Have you ever heard of ambulance chaser or slip and fall lawyers? People make a living faking injuries or pretending to be harmed by a doctor just so they can sue. Insurance companies have names for the different scams people use to sue for insurance.
And there aren't 45 million Americans without health insurance. Somewhere between 8-12 million of those are illegal aliens who would get insurance we would be paying for. Many others have chosen for some reason not to get insurance. The very poor and elderly have their own insurance. There are actually about 8-10 million working poor that cannot afford insurance and make too much for medicaid. It would be cheaper to pay for their insurance than it would be to destroy the system that 85% of Americans say they are happy with.
