I am seeing an Endocrinologist and i have been seeing them almost a year. I am an FTM Transsexual and they do not have any experience in treating Trans people.

When i went in, i had already previously seen an Endo who was very experienced in the Trans feild and i had my files transferred from that doctor to this doctor.

When i started out on my Medication the Doctor and i agreed to start off low and work to higher and higher dosages. So i started out on 50mg bi-weekly IM injection of testosterone. When i got my blood levels checked the Dr. said my levels were 572 and i could not up my dose to 75 which was the plan, and that i could NEVER move up. This was 9 months ago. Every appointment ive had i have tried to make the Dr. See that even though my levels were in "range" they were on the lower end of the spectrum and that not only was every ftm guy i had talked to (which was ALOT) on double or tripple my dose. But i myself with an experienced Dr. was on 350Mg more a month before. I also tried to explain that i was still menstruating and that i am not on enough medication otherwise that would have stopped. But she claimed moving me up would be "malpractice"

At my last app my levels were at 100 which is ALOT lower then 572. Since i was on injection it fluctuates. And i was already asking to switcher to a gel form at this app. Which would give me a much straighter level because its applied every day. Range is between 2-300 to 1100 so despite the fact i was below at that app the Dr. still didnt move me up and said i had to wait to see what my levels were now that im on the gel. Which is another 3 months.

so basically.

The Dr will not listen to me.
Has strung me along for a whole year.
I asked them to consult with my old Endo they said "they never called back"
I am still menstruating and basically gaining hardly ANY secondary male characteristics. Which is the etire reason i see this doc and the whole point of the medicine.
The period should have stopped between 6-9 months ago.
The dr never told me when to get my levels done in order to obtain a better level read.
To my knowledge the dr has not looked into how to treat a trans patient.
The lack of proper treatment has been emotionally and psychically damaging to me.
And the biggest one is i have heard a few people tell me that the fact that i have not been treated correctly and have been on too low a dose. (which i looked in books the dose is too low) But that it can cause harm to my body and actually hurt me.

I'm not saying i would sue this Dr. cuz im not that type of person. but they have not only wasted a year of my life and of my transition, but they are also supposedly jeopardizing my health.

So could i sue them for Malpractice or any other things?

Thanks for your time and help
A. The "Proper treatment" Actually is NOT what she is doing. I have seen in books my self that It is not the proper treatment.

B. The lack of proper treatment has been causing several months of emotional harm and as i said possibly physical aswell. Being malpractice in that sense

Being that this Dr. Does not even know how to treat this kind of illness how is it possible for them to even "deem" ANY kind of treatment proper." It's like sending a contract lawyer to a murder case. YES they may have studied some of that in law school but it is not there specialty and therefore only know so much about it w/o further education.

People if your gonna comment please at least read all the info first.

No, malpractice is malicious or careless acts by the doctor that inflict physical and or emotional harm. Not giving you what you want isn't grounds for malpractice. Its grounds for a second opinion.
"proper treatment" is what the doctor deems necessary, not what the patient deems necessary. They are the ones with the degrees and the liabilities. Again, suing them will do nothing for you but make it harder to find a new endocrinologist, so just cut your losses and find a new doctor now.

Edit: If you have all the answers why are you asking the question?
Go ahead and sue him. PROVE that he PURPOSELY inflicted emotional harm on you. Just because you dont perceive the treatment as adequate, its not malpractice. If you know so much about your medical care (which you should, so good for you), why are you still with a doctor that isn't giving you what you want. Referring to your analogy, why did you hire the contract lawyer to try the murder? We arent socialized medicine (yet), go out there and consult another physician with more credentials to your liking.
