I would like council regarding my situation. I was in optometrist office for a regular checkup on Tuesday Jan 30th, and she had mistakenly put in the wrong drops in my eyes that caused my pupils to dilate for several days and not several hours. It's Thursday Feb 1st and I still can't see without the use of glasses -my pupils are still dilated. I have 20:20 vision ordinarily. What should I do? This is causing me and my family much distress.

Go back immediately Inform them of the mistake. and if they don't do anything, ask for the association/professional organization's contact numbers. this isn't for legal reasons, but to ensure quality of practice.

What time frame did she give you for resolution? I don't think this is permanent its been less than 48 hours - give it time.

Did she inform you of the mistake? If so, I wouldn't be worried. She did not harm your eyes, although you were inconvenienced and I would ask for a discount on the exam or eye glasses. But by telling you of her mistake, I think it is not a real problem. Your eyes should be fine by now :-)
