i had an x-ray in february of 2007. the radiologist report was forwarded to my primary doctor. he said that it detailed moderate arthritis. i had the same x-ray reviewed by an orthopedic surgeon in october of 2007.he said it showed i was bone on bone on both hips and required hip replacement or resurfacing. i just recently returned from mumbai, india having bilateral hip resurfacing. i believe that the radiologist made an error in diagnosis at least in not referring me to a surgeon (a long period of pain). i was lucky that i had great physical therapists that hinted to something being seriously wrong in my hips so i made appointments with surgeons and neurologists for opinions. thank goodness for good practitioners and medical technology.

a diagnostic error reading an x.ray film is not necessarily a malpractice
