Going into a local hospital for a routine gallbladder surgery, the surgery was botched

I seriously doubt you would get them competing. Unless you ended up seriously injured, they won't even bother with you if you contact them.
You can call law firms and ask them if they are interested, but they have enough business, at least the good ones, that they wont' waste their time on one case unless you are paralyzed from the neck down or lost a limb, died, ended up brain damaged, etc. They are very expensive cases to pursue, so it has to be worth their while.

No reputable law firm (the one you may want to represent you) would go as low as competing on line for business.
Sorry your surgery did not go to your expectations but you have little to go for a lawsuit.
The human body works in different ways and there is no way to predict how your body would react.
If your case goes to trial there is a good chance you may not have favorable results because every hospital and doctor in the industry has a very competent legal team working on their behalf (and trust me, they didn't pull them out of the internet).
If the hospital offers to settle out of court, (which is unlikely since we don't know the specifics) take whatever money they offer you and run

I'm an attorney in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am not aware of a website in which lawyers compete for medical malpractice cases. Certainly you can hire and fire your attorney at will. You are not bound to your attorney for any length of time. So, if you are unhappy with your attorney, you can fire him/her. Also, you can negotiate the fees to be charged by your attorney. For example, you can reduce his/her fees if the case is settled prior to filing the lawsuit; prior to trial; etc.
Gall bladder surgery, especially laparoscopic cholecystecomy, often results in serious injuries or death due to the surgeon unintentionally cutting the common bile duct or an artery other than the cystic artery.
