I'm quoting prices of lawyers, and i have no idea if any are good or not. For example one lawyer says he might be able to get one charge dismissed but you never know how it goes, he might be able to get the other ones lowered, it just all depends on the cop and judge. and he's only $ 300. But another one says he can definately get the charges dropped to a summary offense, or maybe even totally dismissed, and he's $ 2,000! Any insite on how this works and advice would be appreciated. thanks

Speaking from expierience...
they are your best friend if the checks keep coming. They are only as good as the money they get. Check out the lawyer with the BBB and search out his reputation to decide on who you want to hire.

You just need to use your best judgement. Look them up on the BBB site as said before and use your head. Choose someone who sounds like they know what they are doing but remember the old rule... if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!

Sounds like you are dealing with criminal law here. In the majority of cases where the client is going in to court, the attorney who has the most experience in that court wins. Normally I would hesitate to hire an attorney who guarantee an outcome BUT... maybe he is in court so much that he knows his stuff. I know some attorneys who concentrate on one type of law, like a DUI, and can tell the client what will happen with almost 100% accuracy.
It seems odd that there is such a difference in cost from one attorney to another. I might ask a few more to see what their prices are.
Sorry, not much insight -- I am still trying to find a plumber who will do the work and not over charge.

LAWYERS are ultimately the best LIARS....hence their names...is it your first offense? whats the charge? have you looked into public defense if you qualify thats the best way to go...they have the best repor with the judge since they work with them every single day and they can usually get you a good deal....if you want a plea of guilty on your record

The one who is telling that he can definitely get the charges dropped to a summary offense, or maybe even totally dismissed for $ 2000 is bluffing !!. Do not believe him. No lawyer can guarantee a judgment !!
