Ok, to start out with I wanted to get my tubes tied because I decided I did not want to have anymore kids, I already have a boy and a girl. I wanted to be able to stop taking birth control and lose my excess weight, all around I just wanted to get healthier. So I went in to a pre-op on feb 25th, the ob/gyn explained the surgery (laprascopic tubal ligation), told me that he has done 1000's of times that there will be absolutly no pain after the surgery, and that same night I would feel great and resume my normal activities. So, on Feb 27th I went in for the surgery, as soon as I started waking up from the surgery I felt like i had been kicked in the stomache, the anethesioligist gave me a shot of dimeral and i was put in the recovery room to start waking up so that they could send me home. When I woke up the doctor who did the surgery did not check me out he just did a quick dart threw the room asked me how i was, I told him I felt very uncomfortable he said "oh, you will be just fine", and exited rather quickly. Then I was allowed to get dressed and was sent home. He did not prescribe me any pain managment what-so-ever for after the surgery. I went home and slept the majority of the day away, then went up to bed. At about 7am the next morning I woke up in a nightmare amount of pain, it hurt so bad I could hardly breathe... my husband called the doctor's after hours line and no one could get ahold of him, so my husband took me to the emergency room, when they took my blood pressure it was 200/115 (high enough for a heart attack, it was so high because i was hurting that bad)... the kind er doctor got my pain under control, she tried to get ahold of the surgery doctor, but not also not successful. She then gave me a prescription and sent me home... after this terrible experience I went to see my general doctor, she told me that my incisions were inflammed. That friday I went to the surgery doctors office and had the stitches removed, that nurse took one look at the stitches and commented that he had put them in way too tight and she had a hard time taking them out. Well shortly there after I started having a constant pain in my lower right side of my abdomen. I really tried to ignore it, but this past saturday it had gotten way too bad, i went to the emergancy room, and at first the doctor there was worried that it might of been appendicitis or a cyst on my ovary, he gave me a shot of pain medicine and told me to come back the following morning for more tests. I went back in sunday morning, I also let them know that when i have tried to lay on my right side there is a firm buldge that sticks out but it does not do it when i lay on my left side so they ran more tests and told me that i have surgical adhesians and a hernia because of the surgery... they wanted me to see the surgeon, but after the non-existent after surgery care and all that i have decided i will see my general doctor (who is awesome by the way) about the hernia. I have been told by several people that the way the surgery doc did was wrong, and i should not be having these problems... is there truly a malpractice suit in all this or not? Not saying 100% that I want to take legal action but there is just so much pain and I don't want this to happen to anyone else... so please if you have a honest yet serious answer, please let me know, or what would you do if you were me?
sorry it is so long, i just wanted to explain it all

Getting money from a doctor or a hospital is extremely difficult. One will lie and 5 other doctors will swear to it. That's what an attorney told me.
