Universal Health care = 47 million new patients of which up to 20 million are illegals and no new doctors. Does that make sense? Didn't think so.

The battle regarding the pros and cons of universal Health Care is a battle between Insurance companies that abuse hard working people and true information.
The reason the US became the greatest country in the world was because the fathers of the country managed to take the best ideas from the different immigrants and consolidate these. The reason the US is decades behind these same countries in regards to civil rights and medical care today is because; "we know best!

I happen to have first hand knowledge about the comparison of universal health care and the US Health Care Providers as I have lived in different countries. I was in Canada when they changed from the HMO system to universal health care and received a few hundred extra dollars a month since the company no longer had to pay for the HMO baggage. In the US I have been a member of Etna, Scott White, Kaiser, Health Plan of Nevada and others. I have also been helped through countries which have socialized medicine and would rate the coverage as follows:
Norway; .................................95
Denmark;...........................95
Canada;.........................93
Kaiser .....................19
Scott&White...............17
Etna ............................. 9
Health Plan of Nevada .......... 3
While Doctors are by far the best people desiring to help others they are hobbled in the US by those that practice medicine for money. On another note; comparing the two systems is like comparing true love with love for money.

It is easy to tell the Senators that do not work for the people; they vote no to the public option!

Stop the insurance companies death panels!

Here it is rather straight forward for you:

Insurance companies each have a complex mix of different forms. A full third of hospital spending is spent on administration to in a very large part, fill out those forms. Doctors who have their own practices have to strictly limit the number of patients so they have time to fill out the paper work for insurance companies. Worse yet, Doctors are having to call up some insurance companies and plead to get them to reverse some denials, or they won't get paid at all for life saving treatments that should never have been denied by insurance.

One of the details congress is looking at is standardization of paperwork. It won't happen quickly, but the legislation pursues different options in this area.

Another thing to note. The republican idea of allowing insurance companies to sell plans across state lines without regard for state laws WILL increase the huge number of forms each hospital, clinic, or practice will have to be able to fill out.

It is very simple. My doctor provides me with the care I need. She runs the tests she wants to run and sends me to the specialists I need to see. She doesn't have to wait for permission to do any of these things from anyone. She doesn't have to spend hours on the phone arguing with 20 different insurance companies for payment. She doesn't have to employ half a dozen people to handle billing. She doesn't have to tell her patients she cannot give them the care they need because it is not covered. She does not have to check a list of specialists to see who she can use.My doctor did all this when she worked in the US. Here in Canada she has one employee that handles all billing, which goes to one place, the government, and everything is paid within 6 weeks and she never has to wonder if everything will be covered because all of her services are. Caps on the amount of damages juries can award in malpractice suits means being sued happens infrequently.

So that is how"Medical professionals can concentrate on healing the patient rather than on insurance procedures, malpracticeliability, etc".
