MY HUSBAND WAS AT WORK PUNCHED IN ON THE CLOCK WHEN ANOTHER EMPLOYEE HAD HIT THE CAR. WE ASKED FOR HIS INSURANCE INFORMATION WHICH HE DID GIVE BUT HE ALSO ASKED FOR OURS TO SUBMIT IT TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY.
WHY DOES HE NEED MY INFO WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED AND NO ONE WAS INSIDE. IN MY EYES HE IS REPSONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN DAMAGE HE SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BILL MY COMPANY WHEN IT WAS DUE TO HIS NEGLIGENCE. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PAYING ATTENTION WHILE DRIVING HIS VEHICLE BUT HE WAS WORRIED ABOUT HIS SONS FOOTBALL GAME AND WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION.
tHE DAMAGE IS PRETTY BAD AND i HAVE A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD WITH PROFOUND MEDICAL NEEDS AND SHE HAS DOCOTRS APPOINTMENTS EVERY WEEK. iF i HAVE TO MAKE SOEMONE TAKE TIME OFF OF WORK TO GET HER TO THE DOCTORS OFFICE OR RESCHEDULE THEM WHILE ITS BEING FIXED, IS HE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT AS WELL?
MY INSURANCE IS LIABILITY ONLY SO DAMAGE TO MY CAR WILL ONLY BE FIXED BY HIS INSURANCE. I AM JUST WORREID THEY WILL BILL MINE FOR HIS MISTAKE.
I am not worried he will tryto bill my own company for my own vehicle..I am thinking he is going to try to get my insurance to fix HIS auto since his car also sustained alot of damage. Since the car was parked I dont see how I can be held responsible for HIS negligence..and according to my agent, there is no reason he himself needed my info. When his adjuster calls about my car that is when the info should be given.....

You may live in a no-fault insurance state. In that case, his insurance pays his damages and yours pays yours, and then it is up to your company to go after his if investigation shows the accident was his fault. His insurance company would need the information on your company. And you would be required to notify your company about the accident.
If you don't have collision insurance, then your company will help you collect from his.

because he has to give it to his insurance agent/company

He simply needed it to give to his insurance company. Any time an accident occurs the drivers are supposed to exchange information.

If the other insurer accepts liability and pays for your damages they should also provide you with a rental car/van while repairs are being made. Go ahead and give them your info if he wants it. Your insurance company will deal with them if they try to make a claim. Be warned: parking lot accidents are the worst -- always seems to come down to 'he said, she said' situation so if you know of any witnesses please give their names to the adjuster when you talk with him/her.

If you have liability insurance they can not bill your carrier for your car damages. He asked for your insurance because you're required to exchange it. Also, some states prevent uninsured motorists from collecting on their property damage (regardless of fault) and his insurance will want to verify valid insurance for the date of loss prior to proceeding with repairs. Lousiana is one such state.

he needs to provide his insurance company your information, its very standard and he was right to get the info. sounds like he is clearly at fault and accepts it. his insurance company should pay for your damages, and put you in another auto until yours is fixed so their should be no interruption with the doctor. they cannot bill your insurance for damage he was at fault for. if the police were called, which i hope you did, get a copy of the report and keep it for at least 3 years. that way if you ever change insurance carriers, you will have proof the accident was not your fault when they pull your clue report.
