Am I too old to go to medical school?

I am 29 years old, already have a masters degree (not in biology or chemistry) and really would like to become a doctor. I work for a very prestigious medical research institute (in a non scientific area) but feel I made a big mistake not becoming a MD instead. Is it too late for me to start premed and attend medical school? Also on of my friends suggested looking into medical schools in Poland (Warsaw) as they are much cheaper. Is that a viable option instead of going into deep debt attending the US ?

No, your not too old. The world needs more doctors, regardless of their age.

NO! My younger sister started law school two years ago at the age of 45!

No. There is no age limit at least not in Europe. In fact, some universities do not care what degree you have when you apply. In other words, the degree does not need to be related to medicine.

It is a good idea to consider seriously studying in Europe as it's true American medical schools are far more expensive. However, do understand that you will still need to pay the international student tuition fee which is much higher than what a European national would pay, but it'll be lower than what they charge in the US. Prague has a well-regarded medical school (Charles University) if you're looking to study in Eastern Europe. The language of instruction is English.

You're never too old to learn. :)
