They would be taking it multiple times a day for months to alleviate their pain.

Pain Killers.
They would be aloud to take those at school just have them at the nurses station.
They wont want kids getting high at school.

They'd better not use my needlenose pliers for roach clips, god dammit. I need those things and I need to know they're in my tool belt when I leave for work in the mornings.

Whatever the doctor prefers.

either would be done multiple times a day. Depending on the age of the person, under 18 i would say painkillers. At the age of eighteen if you can die for your country you should be treated as an adult in all legal manners including alcohol
Oi! SHARP Oi!
chemicals they could potentially get addicted to or a natural herb? id go with the herb but in all honesty id rather my kid didnt get hurt.

Painkillers...it makes things simpler as far as legality goes. Also, the general perception of weed as a "party drug" would make painkillers the more practical option. Doesn't matter what you use it for, weed is still weed, and other kids would want to capitalize on the "legal" supply. I don't personally care if people smoke weed for whatever purpose they want, but given the circumstances your question presents I would prefer my child to have regular painkillers. Overall, it would make things easier on everyone involved.

I hope this isn't a serious/ligitimate question. If a doctor recommends pain killers then you take pain killers. I dought that many (doctors) would recommend pot.

Marijuana, any day.
Some of these answers are crazy. What do you all think marijuana does?
I understand legal concerns, but when you start saying you would rather your child take pain meds because you dont want them to get high, you loose ALL credibiliy
EVERY perscribed pain medication (excluding higher strength tylonal/advil) I have ever taken in my entire life (over two cancer diagnosis, I am sure you can imagine), at regular small, pharmaceutical doses produces FAR more of a high than marijuana.
I also think the comment about capitalizing on the free supply is insane. If its a legal rx, its a legal supply. Do you people not realize that the majority of the drugs passed around in school are LEGALLY perscribed narcotics?

Medical marijuana. Legal issues aside, it is just plain safer.
When I was 17, I had pneumonia. With it, I developed pleurisy which is extremely painful and hurts to inhale and exhale. I was prescribed Percocet for the pain. Yeah, I'd smoked pot before and didn't even think about any of that, about what works better, etc. Not then. What I remember now is that I had mild withdrawals from the Percocet. It was the 1st time I was addicted to opiates. I blossomed into quite a horrible addict (clean now, whew).
My point is that I believe we give our children medicines (codeine, ritalin) with great intentions. However, we do not have any idea what it's doing, or creating, in the brain pathways. Medicine has yet to focus on the truth enough, of addiction being a brain disorder, or how we prime our kids for later.
So, with that in mind, and the fact that the side effects of MMJ are lighter, I answer medical marijuana. There are edible forms they can take.

I support responsible use and medical use of marijuana. I feel strongly it's an 18 and over deal.
