I had a breast reduction about 2 years ago. When i first took the bandages off I noticed that they did not look right at all, however I was told that due to swelling they would look really funny, so I didn't pay too much mind to it. After 4 months I showed a few close friends and they were shocked they said i looked hacked. I went to the doctor for my last follow up appointment the next week, and he offered to try and fix it for free (my insurance was done by then), but I would have to fit the hosp. bill. I was moving out of state and did not have the money for that. My breasts still barely had feeling in them, however a few months after that it did. On my right side on my bra line he never removed some of the excess skin (breast) during the operation, on the left he did. (when i was at the visit he looked a little shocked that it was there and made the comment about not getting that part). Well it has come to the fact that I can't wear a bra because any pressure (on the right side under the arm) against it causes extreme pain (I am also very embaressed to go to work and go to public places and was told by a coworker that she thought it was vulgar that I didn't wear a bra (i had to tell her why I didn't wear one, which I didn't want to do) I have gone to 2 plastic surgeons and they both have replied that I need breast implants, repair work done and that still may not fix it. SIDE NOTE: My left nipple faces my right one (basically points at it), When i first took the bandages off I thought it looked like he pulled it in too deep, but thought maybe due to swelling it looked that way, so I never questioned it like I should have. My question is should I even bother getting a lawyer ( I thought I would try and save to fix it, but ppl tell me not to, that he should pay for it) or would I be wasting my time? I just want money to fix it, I have never been able to show my husband because I am too embarresed.
Thank you
Stitch
Get a lawyer. Don't even question it. You put your health in the hands of this hack and have been suffering since. This "doctor" (and I use that term loosely) needs to pay to repair the damage and have his licence revoked and pay for the suffering. These types of cases happen more than people realise and a judge would take your side.
Best of luck.
