Our pets are family members too! We need to change the law/laws that do not allow people to sue for the deep loss and pain suffered by one's owner of a pet death when a pet is killed by someone else's negligence.

Pets aren't considered family members because they aren't human. They aren't considered citizens and can't be held accountable by law.

In some states they have similar properties...in Virginia they require you to pay taxes on your dog. Taxman always has the last word, it seems.

I know I think you are todally right about that the law is so uncaring at times...I meen there is really ppl that try to run over ppls pets i can stand that!

Interesting question! Think about this, A Police dog if injured by a suspect is considered by the law to have injured a law enforcement officer and faces the same punishment as if they had injured a Human, so YES why aren't pets considered an equal when it comes to being a part of our family's just like they were a son or daughter! When a child or adult is abused or neglected they face punishment and our pets should be included in this law. Their are some newer laws to protect our Animals but they don't come close to really addressing the issue.
I myself believe you are correct in how you think and feel.
As you can see, I am an animal lover but that's besides the point, The Laws need to be changed but the Politicians we have do not seem to have the time for this, Its a sad world now and how it has changed so quickly in the last 100 years or so isn't helping us very much. I hope it all gets better but I myself think it will not.
