I'm working on a thesis title and me and my group mates need more information about the common beliefs of people about radiation. Any common beliefs about radiation would be useful, may it be facts or myths. We are students of Medical Radiation Technology and radiation beliefs related to our course would be much better. any answer would be much appreciated, thank you.

WhachooSay
The mistake is that radiation leaves you without cancer without royally screwing up all your poor little lymph nodes. People don't know that radiation can make the rest of your life a living hell. People don't know that there are other ways to get rid of cancer, and they don't know because medical diagnosers don't give a crap.

RadTech - BAS RT(R)(ARRT)
It doesn't make you radioactive.

It doesn't linger around the room.

You don't have to be a mile away from someone having an x-ray; 6 feet is fine.

X-rays are much safer than people think.

You don't have to leave all metal outside the room - it's not an MRI.

Radiologic technologists are not just button pushers. I trained 40 hours a week for two years to do this, and it can be very stressful and difficult. Who is the first called in a trauma? X-ray.
