My son is 1 1/2 years old. Dad has only paid 4 months of child support $ 50 each month. Has only seen our son 2 times (10 min each time) after we separated when he was 3 weeks old. Doesn't answer any e-mails/calls when I have told him I need diapers or help, or even to have him take our son for half day or when I have asked him to visit him. Now I am receiving medical bills, sent his dad a couple e-mails through MySpace since it notifies you when the person has read your message. He read both emails. Didn't answer any of them. I'm to the point I feel like going to therapy because it makes me upset/sad/depressed to deal with a wall that won't communicate or help or care at all. All these medical bills are going to collections on my name (over a $ 1000). Can't pay them and he won't sign some paperwork that he needs to fill out saying he doesn't have insurance for our son. Medicaid won't pay for it until he signs these papers. I don't know what to do, I keep crying every time something like this happens because he just ignores me and my son. He went and had another baby (3 total including my son) and lives with this other person, who will take all his B.S., including not working, just partying, etc. But he seems to care for them and love them and neglect my child. I don't want to be with him or for him to be around my son because he is a gang member and is very very aggressive toward his first child. I want to go to court so he leaves me with all the responsibility (signs his parental rights) because I don't want to deal with him and chase him around. Also, if something were to happen to me I don't want my son to be left with him.
What should I do?
What law will help my son?
Where to find a cheap/free lawyer since I don't have the money to go to Court?

Get online and try and find out where the nearest Legal Aid office is located. They should be able to offer you some help, or at least some advice on what you can do.
