Lawyers are making laws about how much people can charge for services. They make laws about malpractice and medical insurance, yet it seems they can charge $ 350.00/ hour without having to be accountable to anyone, and the Bar Association makes it harder to pass in some states to avoid competition. Does this seem ethical?
Most representatives that make the laws went to law school and have a law degree. What I meant is that those people with law degrees making the laws are not regulating how lawyers can treat their clients, but are regulating how doctors treat their patients. Someone should be regulating the quality of services that lawyers provide just as a doctor's practice is regulated for the quality of medicine--if a doctor misses something, he can be sued. It should be same with lawyers not doing a good job.

lawyers do not make laws. Representatives to Congress and in the State legislature make laws.

Elected Representatives make laws.

You've got the right idea. Regulation reduces competition.

uh...where to start.

Lawyers don't make laws; government of people YOU elect do. We don't have laws fixing prices in the US. Any small business man can charge what he thinks is fair; you are free to pay it or not. Bar association makes it hard to pass to keep out frauds.

Yes.
