Well I was wondering how much would malpractice insurance cost for an orthopedic spine surgeon. I chose this profession because I would like to specialize in the treatment of scoliosis and other spinal problems since it saddens me to see people suffer from those kind of Medical conditions. I would like to live somewhere like Seattle where I will do a lot of work on people in big cities and hopefully help others from other countries coming to the U.S for treatment and which state treats the most people for spine problems?

Well, that's one of the higher costing liability coverages.
You're going to want to be in a major city.
But it's kind of silly to get an estimate now, because it has almost no bearing on the real cost. But be prepared to pay six figures, per year.
Insurancetips
Mal practice insurance for a surgeon is one of the most expensive insurance coverage. Most of the times the Professional Liability insurance is sold through an association which has a program with an insurance company and the rates are negotiated as a group. I suggest that you should look for such a coverage which will be slightly cheaper since you would get the program agreed rates. However, bear in mind that the insurance rate would be very high and you would be paying the highest premium in this group since the rates are associated with the exposure. The exposure for the spine surgeon is the highest since any would result into disability for the patient.
