I signed my husband and I up for added medical insurance through my company. Apparently, they signed us up, but forgot to change the amount being taken out of my paycheck. Now that they are reviewing their paperwork, I have was called into the HR office Friday and told I need to pay them back $ 3,300! I did what I was supposed to, and this was negligence on their part. Am I still liable for the amount, or is this a cost they legally have to absorb due to their own mistake?

Did you not notice that the amountsa were not coming out?!?!?!?!!?!?
Of course it is legal. If you made a mistake and were getting paid too little you'd certainly expect them to make up for it.

Not only is it legal, but it's required by law. Benefits through your employer are governed by IRS Tax laws. You are REQUIRED to pay them back for it.
Orignal From: My company wants me to pay back benefit fees due to their error. Is this legal?
