Hi, my father was was hospitalized for Carbon Monoxide poisoning over the weekend. He was literally on the brink of death and they had to emergency airlift him to Chicago. It happened at his job because their was a CO leak and they had no detectors. My dad works in an industrial plant and he had trouble with extreme heat. For example fainting.. etc.. So in one section of the plant he cant work which is the heaters. Anyways his job had known for over 10 years about this and he brought a doctors note in. Recently they told him if he cant handle the job there's the door. Fearing loss of his job he was forced to work. That is when he got the CO poisoning due to a leak on the heaters. Are these grounds for a lawsuit? A leak, no detectors, and he had to work the heaters which could be considered medical negligence.

Work-related injuries are covered by workman's compensation and there is no ability to sue separately for them, though you may need to sue to ensure you maximize your benefits under the system.
