I know so many people who went into the hospital and either died from something else - some complication that should never have occurred in the first place or suffered from some odd mistake in surgery or they were misdiagnosed ..
Then the over all attitude of doctors and many nurses really sucks . Doctors will put you through tests you don't need yet some how manage to completely ignore what the patient is telling them and not test where it is needed .
My husband died from just the whole lot of circumstances as I have mention . and He was over medicated and misdiagnosed .

Doctors generally run all tests possible because in this country they run a very high risk of lawsuits. Diagnosis isn't something that all doctors can do simply by looking at a patient. They observe symptoms and then try to find the best fit.

They have been feeding at a healthy trough for a while. Tough to break bad habits.

If you are rich and have money and go to good hospitals like in beverly hills or hollywood they will not discharge you from hospital to they find out want is wrong .If you are poor and go to poor area or midle class area they will do 2 or 3 test like MRI or x-ray and when they cannot find what is wrong they will discharge you .They are more liky to say you sick and have run it on it own or you are stress , not sleeping well or you are making it up .They are less likey to do blood work on the type virus or bactria to keep the cost down and less likey do a DNA test to see if you have a getic problem.
Like the show on mystery diagnosis on discovery health. You want good healthcare pay the money and move in rich area .
It sad but that is the way it is.Most privately run clinics or hospitals the CEO's order the straming of people in and out of ER do to more money making .Nothing cost more than doctor spending 1 or 2 hours to find out want is wrong with you that CEO's hate.
The healthcare in the rich area have the top doctores ( or team of doctors ) and top stuff and the poor / middle class area have long wait times and not too good doctores.

Yeah, doctor's don't only have problems down in the states, there are also problems up here in Canada, when it comes to things like this. I have known a couple of separate situations where there has been some things happening where patients have died as well because of not being medicated properly, so I know that it happens.

To understand why and how even the best doctors can make mistakes I suggest you read the book, "How Doctors Thinks". Here is a scary statistic from that book. 25% of initial diagnosises from a doctor is wrong. The author, a doctor, had back pain and went to four doctors and get four treatment options.
