I mean seriously. Look at all of the programs that the governement has messed up big time. Social Security, Education, Welfare, VA(if they can't get good healthcare to the vets, what makes you think they'll get it right for the rest of us), FEMA, ETC.....and the list goes on.
The countries that have socialized HC have horrible HC.

I was working in the HC industry when the Clinton sponsored HPPA legislation took effect. I know for a fact that this cost millions of dollars for one hospital alone. The office that I worked in spent tons of money to implement this junk. Government run Healthcare would be tons of needless paperwork and wasted money that could be better spent giving quality care.

You want to clean up our healthcare system. 3 simple steps.
1)deal with the immigration problem and stop treating illegals without payment.
2) tort reform-deal with crooked lawyers like Edwards who make millions off of frivolous malpractice lawsuits
3) leave the rest alone-it was fine
TG - you need to do a little research my friend. Canada's healthcare system is not good. People wait months for emergency surgeries. I've heard of people with curable eye conditions going blind because it took so long to get treatment. Is that what you want here?

I'm all for cleaning up the system we have, but not handing it over to the feds

Not a chance.

The system is fine??? People are denied health care everyday, while the insurance companies boast of record profits to their stockholders. They pay claims adjusters bonuses for denying valid claims. I'm no great fan of government, but if the governments of Canada, England, France, Norway, Sweden and many others can run a decent health care system, I suspect ours could too. We'll never know until we try.

NO it would be a disaster!!!

GOVERNMENT stay OUT

You know it cracks me up when people talk about denied health care. They have no clue what denied is. How does waiting months for an MRI sound? You want a heart bypass? Sorry our cut off is 60 and your 61. 20% of all men in Great Britain who are diagnosed with colon cancer will be dead before they can get in for treatment. Great Britian carries the heaviest tax burden in the world, because of thier healthcare system. Why do people think they would get the good care we get today and it not cost anything. We would lose our good doctors and medical staff and it would be replaced with marginal foriegn doctors who will work for little money. If a doctor cannot pay off his education with his career, then why become a doctor. I could go on and on, but it's falling of deaf ears.

If the woman who died on the hospital floor unattended is an indication of what Socialized Healthcare would be, NO THANK YOU!

HMO's and Insurance Companies are dictating What care or method of Care patients would benefit from and not one knows anything about practicing medicine! Veteran's Administratin is a perfect example of it! It takes almost a year to get necessary tests and MRI's for ailing patients in pain!

No amount of Torts will ever be able to pay for that mis-conduct and unethical practice of voodoo. That was not medical care and they should be made to loose their licenses, never to practice anywhere and be accountable for under Criminal law and put in prison for Medical Malpractice. That could have been you or a loved one!

Considering noone is suggesting the nationalization of the health care industry this is just pathetic scare mongering.
The countries that have universal health care have way better health care systems than us. Way cheaper as well. Our health care is the most expensive in the world, ranked a mere 37th in the world and produces health statistics that should be a national embarrasment (a child is more likely to die before the age of 5 in the US than in any other developed country, and more likely than in some developing countries.
Providing everyone in America with health insurance is not as expensive as it is made out to be. It is not putting government in control of hospitals. it is not reducing your choice and it is not limiting the development of our health care industry. Most of all it is not some radical left idea - it is a standard everywhere else.

What do you think? Answer below!
