my son's dog got out of a fenced in yard. Supposely bit a dog in the street and the owner claims my dog bit her too while she was breaking the two dogs up. I told her I would pay her vet bills no problem. now she is sueing me for $ 20000.00 for her pain and suffering. She called 911 and an ambulance came to the sight she refused further treatment and said she was fine. then later when the police arrived the story changed and changed again when the animal control officer arrived. So now she has 3 different account of what happened that day and I have copies of all. the ambulance ref <1 cm bite on hand and that was all. Her doctors state that she had mulitple bites and abrasions on arms and legs hmmm but the Emt noticed none of that. She is looking for a big payoff on a small incident. Not to worry even though I didn't see my dog attack her's I am paying for all the vet bills but her's are you kidding me? what would you do?

When you go the claims court make sure you ask if she had proof that your dog bite her. The fact that she is refusing treatment and changing stories can help you reduce her burden of proof. Make sure you explain to the judge you offered to pay for everything but she refused.
I would document everything, wait to see if she does file with small claims and go to court and tell my part of the story.
