We're in Oregon, and my mother-in-law just found out that the back surgery that she had over 15 years ago was done on the wrong side. All these years she has said that it didn't even feel like they fixed anything (pinched nerve) and recently had an mri done, and they told her that the surgery was done on the left, when it was supposed to have been done on the right. Is there anything she can do about this?
Ben
In Oregon, 5 years. Sorry.

In some places the statute of limitations can be tolled if you reasonably could not have found out about the malpractice, but in this case your mother-in-law seemed to know *something* wasn't right and could have investigated further sooner, so she's probably out of luck.
