5 year old child severely bruises head....mother refuses to console child thinking it will just teach child to be attention seeking....a routine doctors appointmnet is scheduled 2 days later--at which time the doctor advises parent to put wamr compresses on area---some time later it is found out the impact was so severe the child lost sight in 1 eye.

'routine' medical care stopped at age 5...medical attention not sought at time of incidents--or even at a later time depsite persistant health issue..

family had medical insurance and enough money to pay for medical care..both parents are of average to above average intelligence-with adequate education

by 1970-1980s standards--would these have just been considered mistakes on the part of the parents....can it just be attributed to the parents not recognizing the need for medical attention--even when problems persisted--and the 'mistakes' are not corrected
1st incident would have been spring 1979.

its not about legalities--but moral and ethical standards

parents are Christians--there is no religious objections to medical care

Glo★
Child Abuse/Neglect on the part of the parents. However there were not federal guidelines against child abuse until 1979.
