you began to practice ?? i love the feeling and my job but am already thinking of a career change and ive only been called to the bar for about a year now- advocacy is trying and it all at the end of the day comes down to the Judge's opinion and beliefs - you win some you lose some but whats the point ?? anyone else feel that way ?? does it get better with more experience ??
or is this point where the novelty has worn off and its just a job now ??

To be honest, I think it deals greatly with the job you are in and whether or not it is rewarding. However, many friends of mine who were admitted to the bar and practiced for about a year or two ended up finding new jobs that they preferred over being a lawyer. Once of which is a sales rep for Lexis Nexis and enjoys what he is doing. He said he should have just obtained his master's degree instead of getting a JD, since his friends who obtained master's degree are earning as much if not more than attorneys who are starting out.

I truly believe that law schools give a false pretense to attract individuals to law school. However, after law school is done, you know have to be an attorney, which I do not believe law school prepares you for.

I do agree that this does not get better with experience. Ultimately you plead your case to the judge. Even if you have a slam dunk, it is always up to the judge to decide.

I say do the career change and see what is out there. And if you miss the law field, than you can go back. It is always worth trying, than kicking yourself in the ass later asking why you did not try it.

I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!!!
