as in, can they go to another state and practice?

Most states will not grant a license if your license is encumbered in another state. That includes active court cases or investigation.

Malpractice does not always equal losing your license.

Revocation is clearly stated in the state's handling of the review - it may be permanent, and there may be conditions that must be met before being considered for reinstatement.

Growl
Legally no, but frequently the new state does not check with the previous state.

Malpractice has a hierarchy of sanctions:

Warning
Hospital visit suspension
Temporary suspension
Revocation, with the possibility of reinstatement
Permanent revocation

Soozie Q
It depends, sometimes it is permanent, but most of the time its temporary and sometimes they make it to where the dr can never practice medicine in that state only. Which is scary for the next state the dr moves to! I know this happens, I live in a very small town and we have our fair share of quack dr's. Dr's are needed so badly, especially in rural areas that usually the employer doesn't do much digging into their past. Scary, I know.

www.Oginski-Law.com Avastin was touted to be the miracle cure for breast cancer patients. It had been proven to choke off the blood supply of the tumor in other types of cancers and had been approved for breast cancer treatment. Avastin happened to be the most popular and best-selling cancer treatment drug for breast cancer. The FDA recently pulled the drug off market because of recent studies that confirmed that the risks far outweighed the benefits. Patients who are on this medication suffered significant side effects and complications. Despite that risk, there are still breast cancer patients who believe that it offers some benefit. Recognizing that possibility, the FDA said that this medication can be prescribed by a doctor "off label." What that means is that there are significant risks associated with the medication and doctors can still prescribe it for their patients as long as they recognize significant potential for suffering injury. Continuing to take this medication will be an extremely expensive proposition. Your health insurance company will likely no longer pay for this medication that costs almost 0000 per year. According to news reports, Medicare will continue to make payments for the medication, but it is unclear for how long they will continue to do so.Watch the video to learn more.
