I've been doing some research into this question and it seems like the answer is no. However, I was wondering if I could get a medical waiver for this condition if it is very mild?

If I'm able to get a doctors note or something like that, would that help the situation?

Thank you in advance for all responses, I really appreciate all your help.

No, I'm sorry.

Unfortunately any neurological disorder can disqualify you from the military. You could just not mention it if it's not noticeable, but you could still get discharged later on. If you do mention it and it is mild, then what you do is present your medical information to the recruiter and MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) can get a waiver for it, but with cerebral palsy that may be unlikely. To be with the Marines you have to have a pretty flawless medical record, and that's almost the same with the Army. It doesn't hurt to ask a recruiter though, good luck!

I am sorry, but the answer is no. They have really tight rules as far as health issues. You cannot have any kind of disease or condition. Not to mention, if you were to want a waiver from a Dr., It would have to be a military Dr. anyway. Maybe in the future this will change. I certainly hope it does! My source if you are wondering is my husband, who used to be a recruiter. I may be wrong and if you want the truth call a recruiting center, they will tell you.

You might be able to fool laypeople but you will never get past the MEPS doctors if you have cerebral palsy. They'll see the tremors and palsy no matter how mild they are. Even if you take medication to control the palsy and tremors, then those drugs might show upon the blood test. And if there are side effects from those drugs, then the doctors will see those. .Sorry.

Despite the importance of the problem, strikingly little has been written about effective approaches to the treatment of individuals with mild to moderate brain injury. This book is designed for neuropsychologists, counseling and rehabilitation psychologists, and other rehabilitation professionals who work with individuals who have sustained brain injuries of mild to moderate severity. It provides a context for understanding and evaluating the common consequences of such injuries and offers both theoretical perspectives and practical suggestions for helping individuals to adjust to and compensate for residual difficulties. Early chapters focus on different domains of cognitive functioning, while later chapters describe clinical approaches to helping clients manage common emotional reactions such as depression, irritability, and anxiety. While the book acknowledges and discusses the controversy about the origins of persistent symptoms following mild brain injures, it does not focus on t
