I was diagnosed a few months ago with interstitial cystitis(chronis inflammation of the bladder) which means I almost always have pains as if I have a UTI and urinalysis tests come back negative. However I still get infections a few times a year. I went to the ER when I had been in pain for days and it had not subsided. They took tests and told me everything came back negative and just sent me on my way with an Rx for vicodin. I was still in pain two days later and got in to see my urologist where he did a test himself and also got the tests back from the ER. His tests showed that I did in fact have a UTI and the tests from the ER also showed I had an infection. The doctor lied to me and sent me on my way in pain. When I went back the same day I saw my uro to talk to who ever in charge at the ER, they defended the doctor and one nurse had the nerve to tell me that I should know better than to come into the ER with interstitial cystitis pain..... I want to file a lawsuit, but I have no idea in how to go about it. I called a medical malpractice lawyer and I suppose they consider this too minor to deal with. Can someone tell me if I have a case and could file a civil action lawsuit? Thanks
