What kind of Negligence? What did they do or not do that caused the negligence? did it result in personal injury? Wrongful death? Not fulfilling an educational contract? And it doesn't matter if it is a private college or not, if your rights were violated and you can prove it, then you have a case. But you haven't given enough info to actually answer your question.

If you go to law school and take a first year class in torts, you will have a basic concept of negligence. As it is, your question makes little sense. Try re-phrasing the question to ask what you really want to know and perhaps you will get an answer.
