Currently I'm a sophomore at Marquette, originally was in the sciences but have lost the passion I had for the subject. I've been very interested in both History and Philosophy since I was in high school and did very well in them. I'm not a terrific writer which deterred me from both majors. However I am considering going to Law School and would love to be a lawyer in ethic cases or even (due to my large background in the sciences, specifically health sciences) medical malpractice law fighting on the side of the hospital or doctor. I keep hearing both majors are good for law school and both of which I can take. Also, I have all the pre-med requirements except for Organic Chemistry. So I ask which do most law schools prefer and which would be more useful for when I want to go into teaching either at a law school (which would be pretty sweet) or even just at a university level (yeah i know you need more schooling for both which I am ok with since I plan on a continuous education throughout my life, so constant schooling or taking classes to stay with the times and to increase my academic knowledge.)
Let me know your thoughts and if you feel I should even double major which would cost me another year in college but at this point I'd rather be well rounded and a good candidate for law school or grad school than to finish "on time" and only have a limited choice in options. Thanks! Also please provide sites if you mention statistics or even options from other universities or what certain grad/law schools want. Thanks!

I have graduated from a top ten law school and practiced law. My undergraduate history major provided excellent preparation in the critical reading, thinking, and writing skills which are required in the study and practice of law. I took two philosophy classes and found them very disappointing.
Law schools will not have a preference in admission between a philosophy major and a history major. Both are very good pre-law majors, although they will not count so highly as math or engineering. However, the major is a very small factor in law school admission decisions.
