I live in a small southern town and I have spoken with several lawyers. My Mom died because of negligence. I'm told that it would be hard to get another Dr to say it was neglience. Also that since there was no dependents there is no monetary loss and she was 82 and her life expectancy was not the best. There was pain and suffering on her part and on her family. I lost my best friend. We lived together and I took care of her. Is there anything that can be done? The medical professional didn't do what was standard practice. She just sent my Mom home with "I'll order blood work tomorrow." Are there any law professional on yahoo that can give me some advice?

Here's a lawyer referral service from the American Bar Association.
