They should absolutley be charged with neglect!! It is the parents responsibility to care for and make sure their children are well, and when theyre not it is the parents duty to get them well. Praying will not get their child better. Medical help will.

Absolutely

i think so
parents are supposed to protect their kids and do anything to keep them well and healthy
if a child needs medicine then it shouldnt be optional the parents need to put aside their religious views and care for their kids
emily- I heard a lot about that case as I live 10 mins from that town I believe the mom didnt go to prision but went to a mental hospital

Yes,they should be charged with neglect. Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that praying for your child to be healed can happen. But God does give you common sense & you should definitely take your child in for medical help. Doctors are here for a reason.

YES! I am Christian, but God only helps those who help themselves, and merely sitting back waiting for a "miracle" isn't going to do a gosh darn thing, especially when appropriate medical care could save the child!
Emily
Yes, and it happens a lot. There was a case in Attleboro, Massachusetts a couple of years ago where the parents went to prison.
Rowan
Yes. religious beliefs should never come before a child's health.

I think you mean the Christian Science type situation. Well that is tough to say having known them myself. They do have their own doctors and they try to do what they can without the drugs etc. I feel for them because they are trying to do what they think is best and be right with God. I hate doctors so I guess I am bias anyway.

What about all the times where medical help did nothing? Like in many cancer cases. They go through chemo, only to have it come back and so they decide not to go that route.
Google Abraham Cherrix
They went the route of medical care the first time. It did not cure him. The second time they decided on alternative things, and they worked. Well, the gov't didn't like that and put that family through hell.
