My son was injured at the bushi-ban gym. My insurance is asking how he was injured. I think they want to pass the costs to the gym's insurance. Does bushi ban gyms cover medical injuries?

Most businesses have a business policy that includes liability.

Your insurance wants to get paid back if you get money from a claim. That is why they are asking.

As far as you are concerned your health insurance pays. It is asking for that information so it can determine if there is a case for subrogation (the insurer recovering it's costs from a third party).

Well, there's no way to know. Most of the time, the gym won't cover an injury just because it happened there - there has to be liability or fault. It's not automatic.

So your insurer will send them a letter, and see if they have any "no fault" coverage - which they probably don't. And they'll ask you about the circumstances, to see if, for example, an employee dropped a barbell on him, to see if they can "subrogate" the claim.

They will cover your son's injury but will try to recover from the Gym;s because the Gym is liable in some way. It's called subrogation.

You will have nothing to do with that they will handle it.
