assuming it's a doctor that works for a medical office with several other dr's will they lose their position and/or license?

No. Depending on the severity of the malpractice lawsuit, what happens most times is the malpractice insurance pays the claim. Then the malpractice insurance goes up for every doctor everywhere to pay the claim....and in turn our co-pay or office visit goes up to pay the claim.

usually no they will investigate all the details and than their insurance company will take over the case and pay if it was the dr fault
