I'm a 21 yr old felon who still wants to make something of himself regardless of the mistake I made last year. I was thinking about medical billing and coding. Also, what are some other fields besides labor a felon may be able to pursue?

medical billing should be fine.

You must disclose your felony when applying. Typically you cannot get a position which involves a license such as Physician, RN, Social Worker, etc.

You should be able to get a position in the Billing/Coding Department if they are willing to hire you.

it would be up to the Dr. or hospital that you apply to, usually they will not hire felons, their liability would be to high, even coding you would have access to a patients records and information

I don't see why not. But don't lie to a potential employer be up front explain in person at an interview about your felony. What is your felony anyway?
