encouraged by Scientology? I don't want to say that the Travoltas or the Church are murderers. I would like to discuss rumors along these lines. Lisa Marie says that they'd be idiots if they didn't give him any treatment. I'm hearing about medication that was working but was taken off of it and a misdiagnosis by the church. John is saying that cleaning products were to blame. I'm deducing that he was considered a lower level human because of his condition that was treatable by standard means while church techniques weren't working. This is not an excuse to attack the church. This is my own personal investigation.

yes...scientology is against a lot of stuff in medicine
i have always thought his death was related to travoltas cult...but so few details were released
The Sarcastic One
It looked like gross negligence on the parents part to me.

The church does have some pretty weird thoughts on medicine.

Of course it was neglect, the children of wealthy people do not die of commonly treatable ailments

Yes, I've always thought that. Aside from the reasons you mentioned, it's a little too convenient that they were outside the U.S. at the time so a proper investigation could not be conducted.
It's such a shame and I have a hard time looking at that family on television without feeling sick about what they did.

Jet died from having a seizure that caused him to fall and hit his head in the bathtub.
He was taken off his long-term medical drug because it was causing a severe side-effect - it was damaging his liver. Actual doctors advised that Jet be taken off the drug to allow is liver to recuperate. He would have died eventually if he wasn't taken off the drug that wasn't having any affect anymore because the liver was being damaged.
It was an unfortunate accident - one that ANY parent with a child that has severe seizure should NEVER have to experience.
Don't mingle this awful tragedy with RELIGION. Religion had NOTHING to do with it. Accidents happen at ANY TIME, even in the Bahamas when you're on vacation.

Jet died from an accident, not medical neglect. He fell and hit his head after he had a seizure.
Religion had nothing to do with this accident.
He had suffered from having seizures all of his life - and the drug he was on was damaging his liver so he was taken off of it. The drug was no longer working because his liver was not processing it correctly enough anymore so that it could be absorbed into body and have its medical benefit.
Whether he was on the drug or not - having a seizure can be life-threatening depending what type of seizure you have and the environment you are in at the time you seize.
I can't believe you would blame the parents, when they've raised this child since birth and have dealt with him at his most vulnerable times. You're sick - and absolutely delusional about seeing a connection with their church and Jet's death.

If in fact there was a medication available to treat Jett's seizures and the parents thought for some reason, whether religion or not, that they did not want to go with the medication, then I believe that it was a miscalculation on their part in which they are probably regretting even to this day.

Jett Travolta was being given treatment for Kawasaki syndrome, instead of what he really needed.
Jett was autistic, but scientology doesn't recognize the existence of autism, so they treated him for Kawasaki syndrome that fits into scientology's fake reality. I think his death is definitely related to beliefs of his parents, but I don't think that the Travoltas murdered him. He was a victim of scientology, like many others.
