my a/c has been on the fritz for a month and they are taking forever to replace it. I have to have it running all day to keep the house cool. Can i get reimbursed for their negligence?
I turned in a work order stating that it had to run non stop. Should I get a copy of it?

Yes you could. You would have to prove to a judge that they intentionally caused you to run the AC non stop. The problem is that if you knew it was not working correctly and ran it anyway, it was actually your negligence and not theirs.
