Not enough blacks getting into medical school? No problem, let's just let them in with lower scores. http://www.news24.com/News24/South_Africa/Politics/0,,2-7-12_2339806,00.html Another bad thing about Affirmative Action is that it places doubt on the abilities and competence of all blacks. For the few blacks who scored higher than 90% of the whites, the ones who got in without AA, what do you think of your AA peers, the ones who should not even be there? What does AA do for the black self esteem?

If you absolutlely MUST have a black doctor, go right ahead; just don't ask me why I'll pass on them.

I'm guessing whites, asian, arabs, and hispanics won't use them if they had a choice. Therefore, most of the medical horror stories should occur in black area hospitals.
I can already see the malpractice lawsuits. Oops, it's already started in the U.S.A.: http://www.nationalreview.com/dunphy/dunphy200404080849.asp

When you show up in the emergency room wearing your sheet, plan on some creative, untraceable malpractice.

The same way I know a white doctor isn't just riding on her grandaddy's laurels. Any visit to any doctor is a leap of faith. I run into problems trusting ANY of them, but when I have to... I know it as a leap of faith and am usually not in any condition to evaluate skin colors, nationalities, etc.

I could understand your reluctance if you were in South Africa being treated by a doctor who got his job under AA, but this does not apply to the United States.
AA was discontinued here in the United States so the black doctors at MLK hospital most likely got in on their own merits. Even when AA was active, you were still required to be qualified. AA did require that you hire a certain number of minority applicants, but this selection was only made among qualified applicants. If you hired a black doctor under the old AA rules, he was still required to have passed all of his medical exams and obtain a license from the AMA. Most of the problems faced in MLK hospital are the result of poor funding and doctors being forced to work longer shifts due to under-staffing.

Affirmative Action is basically racism, but worse. It teaches people of the "oppressed" race that they can achieve the same as the "dominant" race with less skill and effort. Affirmative Action is basically the NAACP shooting itself in the foot.
