So one of my friend got into a bad car accident and now filing a lawsuit. He states that the settlement will pay out his portion of the medical expense. I say that the settlement will pay out his portion and reimbursed the his health care insurance.
Example::
Total medical bills $ 10,000
Work healthcare insurance paid 80% so they paid out $ 8,000
He is responsible for $ 2,000.
I say settlement will pay the entire $ 10,000
He say settlement will pay $ 2,000 because he has health insurance.
Who is correct?
